Fergal Boyle Geography - Secondary Economic Activities As part of the Geography Junior Certificate Curriculum students examine two case studies on industry. We choose Gyproc Saint-Gobain as an example of a heavy industry and Butler’s Choclates as an example of a light industry. On Tuesday we were delighted to welcome Mr. Paul Whelan, Head of Human Resources to Coláiste Dún an Rí to speak to students about Gyproc Saint Gobain. On Wednesday students had the opportunity to visit Butlers Choclate factory. These activities were of huge benefit to students as they learned about inputs, processes and outputs and factors which affect the location of an industry.
